Paul Johnson was great to work with! We were out of state during pretty much the entire process, and Paul was very helpful with guiding us through the process even though we were remote. First of all I have to say that Paul Johnson did not ask me to write this review (as other realtors in my past have), I asked him if I could write it.
When we moved to the Portland area at then end of 2015 we were renting ; pending the sale of our property in Los Angeles. In the meantime we were excited about all the mid-century modern homes we were seeing around the area we wanted to live. As most people do these days, we went online and started hitting up the typical sites (zillow, etc. etc.). At some point in our browsing we came across Paul’s portland-modern site: urbanvue.com. A little while after hitting his site he reached out to us. I let him know about our tastes, existing property and that our timeline for actually purchasing a home was going to be months later.
Over the months Paul kept in touch and and was there when we were ready to start shopping for a home. We identified some homes we wanted to see and he made the time to go see them whenever we wanted. He was almost always available, at any time – weekday, weekend, morning, evening. He was also very punctual in his text and email responses. Communication is the most important quality in a Real estate agent and Paul really stays connected.
During our home search, we actually had to take a break in the middle as we already had a 2 week vacation planned. We were overseas and Paul kept us up to date by actually checking out houses we were interested in, shooting video walkthroughs of the homes and then sending them to us to review while we were abroad! That’s going above and beyond.
One of the houses we saw while we were away was the first one we put an offer on and the offer was accepted. Once we were in the inspection period Paul had an inspector come out to check the property out. After the inspection, I was expecting a more thorough report. I expressed my concerns to Paul, at his own expense had another (amazing) inspector come out to inspect the property. Again, above and beyond.
It turned out that there was something in the inspection that we couldn’t live with so we had to pass on the house. But shortly after we found another house on the market in the same neighborhood that we ended up purchasing.
During the purchase Paul was efficient with the paperwork and the entire transaction was as smooth as could have been expected. He took our few issues to the seller and had them addressed before closing and we were very happy with the purchase.
Being new to the portland area, Paul really made us feel at ease. His knowledge of the various neighborhoods gave us confidence in our purchasing decision. I whole heartedly recommend his services!
